THE LEGENDS OF THE PLACE

The citadel, where Taschler Haus is located, was surrounded by the protective walls which partly still exist. The citadle is nowadays still inhabited, being the only inhabited medieval citadel in south-eastern Europe.

If you want to visit one of the oldest monuments in the city, this is the Monastery Church, built in the second half of the XIIIth century in transilvanian-gothic style. The Monastery Church is located right on Strada Cetății, near the Clock Tower.

The most important attraction of the citadel is the Clock Tower, the most massive of the nine towers of Sighisoara’s citadel. It is a historical monument built in the XIVth century, and can be still visited by tourists. From the viewing platform at a height of 30m you can enjoy the view over the citadel, the town and its surroundings.
